I gave these a definite five star rating, and they work very well. Actually they are the only replacements on the market available for Troy Bilt Part # 1768429
There have been others yes who have tried to fabricate this part, I bought some even, but this is by far the best one available.
Again they work excellent, and a good job was done fabricating them.
The only thing as the customer I would and have added to make them fit better for myself, is that the original plastic part was a full 1/8 inch thicker than this replacement, therefore I would suggest to use 2 washers of same or dual size to make up the difference, this will allow a more secure (less sloppy fit) on its mounting giving it a more secure feel of working. Also extra what I did was to drill a 1/8'' hole in the right and left sides on the new part at the bottom (imagined water level bottom) of the micro switch compartment...I say that because the bottom section of the new one is enclosed and if you leave the machine outside in the rain, this compartment could fill up with water which would not be good for the micro switch itself or it's 2 wire connections, and the holes will release it. (note that whichever one you put on the left side gets its hole drilled in the micro switch cover plate itself, however the right side you drill the hole into the opposite side or body of the part itself (reasons are angle of drainage) Again though when installed the hole gets drilled at the lowest bottom (water level - if you filled it with water) so that any/all water will flow out of the hole. If desired I could take pictures of both the double washer location as well as where I drilled the holes. (The original plastic part has an slot opening where water would drain)
By the way to note, All, !, sickle bar mowers using this part number (original plastic version) ...whether you kept the mower inside like I did, or outside, the 'original' plastic handles the plastic itself deteriorates resulting in that they crack apart under the pressure. There is no way around it, you will need to replace the originals with these aluminum ones sooner or later, if they are still available.
Nice job OK Hardware on getting these fabricated
