About Us

OK Hardware is a family owned and operated business in a small rural community in central Wisconsin. Harvey and Sonja Olson purchased the 1300 sq. ft. business in 1959 from Alex Hathaway and has continued to expand as the community grew. In 1967 1200 sq. feet were added, 1800 sq, feet were added in 1979, and in 1987 a 640 sq. ft. mini storage was added. Harvey and Sonja's son, Mark, started in the business full time in 1979 and continues to manage the business with his mother. Mark has 1 college aged son, Paul and 1 daughter, Hannah who play a part in operating the business between going to school and other activities. In 1988 OK Hardware expanded by adding a small engine repair shop with a certified mechanic, Dave Bach, and we added a large selection of in stock small engine parts. In 1998 OK Hardware became a Do it Best retailer as Our Own Hardware combined with HWI. This allowed OK Hardware to expand it's already large variety of products. OK Hardware offers a complete line of lawn & Garden, hardware, paint, electrical & plumbing supplies and Small Engine parts for the do-it-yourselfer and contractor. In 2007 Mark's son Paul became the founder and creator of okhardwarestore.com. He is helping the family business expand as technology expands by bringing the stores merchandise and the shops parts to the Internet community. OK Hardware hopes to serve you well with providing an on-line Hardware store specializing in selling small engine parts and supplies but going as far as selling household and giftware to our loyal customers.
